Stories of Service: Narrative Shorts & Filmmaker Q&A at the GI Film Festival San Diego

Join the us for a special evening at the GI Film Festival San Diego.
Registrants will receive a complimentary ticket to attend the Narrative Shorts Block at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park, followed by a live Q&A with attending filmmakers and a networking opportunity after the screening.
The program features six short films exploring war, identity, memory, and the transition home:
- This Is My Rifle – A Marine uses spoken word to confront guilt and grief from war.
- ALMOST HOME – A decorated Marine struggles with trauma, prejudice, and identity after a life-altering event.
- The Craftsman – An animated film about legacy, creativity, and generational memory.
- Life Begins – A war veteran attempts to adjust to civilian life after combat.
- CINDY – A struggling writer’s overnight driving job leads to unexpected connection and reflection.
- Veterano – A Filipino WWII veteran prepares for one final mission decades after the war.
Attendees will have opportunities to meet with other film lovers, veterans, and select filmmakers before and/or after the screening.
