About the Instructor

John Lumpkin is a collage-artist and theatre-maker based in Olney, Maryland. After earning a degree and falling in love at Baylor University’s theatre program, he and his fiance moved to Maryland to pursue a career in creating and celebrating local art of all mediums. John is dedicated to rediscovering forgotten and overlooked paper materials and rehoming them in unique collage art. He rarely begins an art project knowing the outcome, and he allows creative intuition and joy to guide the artistic process. John’s collages range in themes, but often explore gender, history, and color.
