ActingThis seven-week class meets on Saturdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13, and 20 with a graduation performance on Saturday, June 27.
Curtain up, light the lights! In this theater deep-dive, we’ll introduce you to rehearsal techniques including scene work, character development, partner work, voice and movement, and dramatic interpretation. Classes will all be leading to a Graduation Performance, where you get to share your new skills with your family and friends!
About the Instructor
Scott Russell is an AEA actor, SDC Fight Director, and a Full Instructor with Dueling Arts International; he currently teaches theatre at Franklin College. He has been recognized as an Advanced Actor Combatant with DAI and the Society of American Fight Directors, and an Intermediate Actor Combatant with Fight Directors Canada, the Society of Australian Fight Directors, Inc., the Nordic Stage Fight Society, and the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. He currently serves as the Resident Fight Director at the Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis.
Scott received his MFA in Theatre from the University of Arkansas, and is a graduate of The Conservatory at Act One Studios – Chicago. He holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Belmont University and spent many years as a cancer biologist.
