Taught by professional theatre artists, this six-week class will introduce you to rehearsal techniques including scene work, character development, voice and movement, and dramatic interpretation. At the end, you’ll get the chance to show off your acting chops in a graduation performance for friends and family. 

The first session of this class is Wednesday, March 29 from 7-9 PM and will meet weekly through May 3.

About the Instructor

Ronn Johnston was a university Theatre Chair for 20 years and has over three decades of experience as a performer, director, and acting teacher/coach; he is a graduate of the School at Steppenwolf, Shakespeare and Company, The Conservatory at South Coast Repertory; having studied under Paul Sills, Sheldon Patinkin, and Tina Landau to name a few. Ronnie’s coaching includes Spolin-style improvisation, “method” techniques (Adler, Hagen, Meisner), devised theatre, and original performance pieces. 

This class is produced in partnership with the Phoenix Theatre.
