Introduction to Pastel Painting

Explore the vibrant world of professional-grade dry pastels in this one-day workshop. Experience the immediate thrill of drawing with pure color and blending effortlessly while learning the basics of layering, maintaining vibrancy, and choosing the right surfaces for the best results.
You’ll also learn how to preserve and protect your artwork. You’ll leave with a small Degas-inspired Impressionist piece and the skills to keep creating. Any experience level welcome, all materials will be provided.
About the Instructor
Marjorie Lindsay is a contemporary landscape painter based in San Antonio, Texas. She holds a BFA and MFA in Drawing and Painting and has painted extensively across the United States and Italy, creating work rooted in slow observation and the experience of place. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally and are included in collections such as Salt Lake County Art in Public Places and Delta Airlines’ Crown Room Collection. Learn more here.
