Master the fundamentals of unscripted, spontaneous improv comedy in this eight-week class. Speak more confidently and overcome shyness, unlock your creativity, sharpen your mind, meet new friends and have fun all at the same time. Improv training is great for advancing your professional, personal or artistic skills. The core components of improv, character, teamwork, listening skills, and your ability to be “in the moment” are strongly emphasized. It’s the most fun you’ll have all week.
This 8-week class will meet on Sundays: April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, and June 2 (skip May 26). Each session is 2.5 hours.This class has a graduation show on Saturday, June 8, where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.
About the Instructor
Clyde Thompson is a Navy veteran, proud dog dad, and comedian. He co-hosts a monthly open mic at Hawk ‘n’ Dove and has performed improv comedy in shows with various organizations in the DC area, including the Armed Services Arts Partnership, Laugh Index Theater, and Washington Improv Theater. Clyde puts on community service events for under-served communities with The Mission Continues and is the founder of the East River Dog Park Group 501(C)(3).
