This six-week class will meet on Wednesdays: March 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16, and 23. Each session is 2 hours.
Unleash your inner SNL writer by learning the basics of writing sketch comedy in a fun and supportive environment. This six-week online class will include lessons on identifying what makes a sketch funny, how to pitch sketch ideas, various types of sketches, editing and re-editing your scripts, and how to offer and accept constructive feedback.
Participants will learn how to use what they know to develop their own ideas, how to turn those ideas into sketches, and how to edit those sketches to be the funniest they can be. Skills gained that are applicable outside the classroom include working as a group, giving and receiving constructive feedback, confidence pitching ideas, improved communication, and more. No experience necessary as our instructors will guide you from the first keystroke.
