During this Comic Creation Workshop, we will be demystifying and simplifying the comic book art form in a way that makes it not only palatable and accessible but also fun and rewarding.

We’ll have a brief rundown on character and setting creation before launching into illustrating our very own 4-panel comic. By the end of the lesson, we will have covered the four basic stages of the comic-making process: brainstorming and drafting, pencils, inks, and colors.

All materials will be provided; just come with an open mind, a willingness to try something new, and a desire to spark that playful creativity that exists within all of us. All experience levels welcome.

About the Instructors

Certified as an in-class Doodle Master way back in 1998, when he was in third grade, Eddie Gallagher has been drawing and creating stories ever since. His primary area of study is comic books and illustration (both digital and traditional), and he is the creator of the comic book Souljourn, available on his website, EJGallagher3.com. He brings a playful, curious attitude to his teaching practice and thrives on seeing his students’ imaginations ignite with characters and stories of their own. In his free time, Eddie enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons, caring for his cats, drawing and painting, meditating, and spending time with friends.
