Learn the basics of standup comedy in this six-week class taught by professional comics. The class ends with a graduation show where you’ll deliver a five-minute comedy set to a public audience. Our 600+ graduates have gone on to perform on some of the world’s biggest stages, including Warner Theater, Gotham Comedy Club, and The White House.
This six-week class will meet on Sundays: January 19, 26, February 2, 9, 16, 23. Each session is 3 hours. This class has an online graduation show on March 2 where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.
About the Instructors
Sherri Priester is a Navy wife who has performed in clubs throughout the Southeast & has appeared on Coast Comedy Live, CBS, and UBSN on Roku. Since 2019, she has performed with comedians Lindsay Glazer, Helen Keaney, Tracey Locke, Cederick Middlebrooks, Jason Moliterno, Mat Alano-Martin, Chris Harvey, Quicy Carr, Tanya Lee Davis and Shelly Belly and more. Her unique take on parenting, marriage, the military, friendship and aging will make any audience laugh.
PT Bratton is a pastor-turned-comedian and one of the DMV’s only veteran & African-American comedians who delivers clean, conscientious comedy through a uniquely lighthearted mixture of perspectives. He has shared the stage with some of the best comics in the nation including PJ Walsh (Blue Collar Comedy Tour) and Chinnita Morris AKA Chocolate (HBO’S Def Comedy Jam). Read more here.
