Learn the basics of standup comedy in this six-week class taught by professional comics. The class ends with a graduation show where you’ll deliver a five-minute comedy set to a public audience. Our 600+ graduates have gone on to perform on some of the world’s biggest stages, including Warner Theater, Gotham Comedy Club, and The White House
The first session of this class is Saturday, March 18 from 2-5 PM and will meet weekly through April 29, skipping the week of April 8. The graduation show for this class will be on Sunday, May 7, at 5 PM.
About the Instructors
Sherri Priester is a Navy wife who has performed in clubs throughout the Southeast & has appeared on Coast Comedy Live, CBS, and UBSN on Roku. Since 2019, she has performed with comedians Lindsay Glazer, Helen Keaney, Tracey Locke, Cederick Middlebrooks, Jason Moliterno, Mat Alano-Martin, Chris Harvey, Quicy Carr, Tanya Lee Davis and Shelly Belly and more. Her unique take on parenting, marriage, the military, friendship and aging will make any audience laugh.
Fred McKinnon is a U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command information technology specialist and started his stand-up routines at various comedy clubs around the Hampton Roads area. The military took a special interest in having him perform at local military bases and he has made people laugh at the U.S. Air Force Airmen and Soldiers at Joint Base Langley-Eustis clubs, community centers, as well as local Veterans Affairs hospitals and centers.
