This is a four-week week class and will meet on Wednesdays: March 12, 19, 26, April 2. Each session is 2 hours.

Guided by experienced theatre professionals, this class offers an immersive introduction to the theatrical process. Participants will explore a range of rehearsal techniques, including detailed scene work, in-depth character development, and the enhancement of voice and movement skills. Additionally, you will learn the art of dramatic interpretation. These skills are not only essential for the stage but also highly transferable to everyday life, enhancing your communication, confidence, and empathy.

About the Instructor

Scott Russell is an AEA actor, SDC Fight Director, and a Full Instructor with Dueling Arts International; he currently teaches theatre at Franklin College. He has been recognized as an Advanced Actor Combatant with DAI and the Society of American Fight Directors, and an Intermediate Actor Combatant with Fight Directors Canada, the Society of Australian Fight Directors, Inc., the Nordic Stage Fight Society, and the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. He currently serves as the Resident Fight Director at the Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis.Scott received his MFA in Theatre from the University of Arkansas, and is a graduate of The Conservatory at Act One Studios – Chicago. He holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Belmont University and spent many years as a cancer biologist.
