Learn the basics of standup comedy in this six-week class taught by professional comics. The class ends with a graduation show where you’ll deliver a five-minute comedy set to a public audience. Our 600+ graduates have gone on to perform on some of the world’s biggest stages, including Warner Theater, Gotham Comedy Club, and The White House.

This six-week class will meet on Sundays: March 17, 24, April 7, 14, 21, 28 (skip March 30). Each session is 3 hours. This class has a graduation show on Friday, May 10, where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.

About the Instructors

Christopher Cline is a Marine Corps veteran and stand-up comedian based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. He’s a 2021 graduate of ASAP’s Comedy Boot Camp and 2023 graduate of ASAP’s Acting course. Chris was a semi-finalist in 2023 America’s Funniest Veterans and Military Spouses and was a finalist in 1998 National Karaoke Competition held at Miss Kitty’s. ASAP classes provide not only camaraderie but so much more and he’s glad to be a part of it.

Russell Johnson is a Marine Veteran and father of two. He has been involved with ASAP as a student in the Comedy Bootcamp in Summer of 2022, mentor in the Comedy Bootcamp of Fall 2022, and then Co-Instructor in the Comedy Bootcamp of Spring 2023. He looks forward to continuing to grow his experience in stand-up and learning with, while instructing students new to the ASAP Comedy Bootcamp. He is currently a resident of Indiana, on the north side of Indianapolis, and active with The American Legion.
