This six-week class will meet on Sundays: September 8, 15, 22, 29, October 6, and 20 (skip October 13). Each session is 3 hours.
Learn the basics of standup comedy in this six-week class taught by professional comics. The class ends with a graduation show where you’ll deliver a five-minute comedy set to a public audience. Our 600+ graduates have gone on to perform on some of the world’s biggest stages, including Warner Theater, Gotham Comedy Club, and The White House.
This class has a graduation show on Tuesday, October 29, where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.
About the Instructors
Dewayne White is a DC-based standup comedian and a combat-wounded Army veteran who served in the Army for 23 years. He has worked alongside amazing comedians like Josh Blue, Sal Vulcano, Mark Normand, Tony Woods and many others. Dewayne was selected as Best of the Fest at the 2022 Plano Comedy festival, 2021’s Magooby’s Joke House Comedian of the Year, and a finalist in 2019’s “Last DC Comic Standing.” Read more here.
PT Bratton is a pastor-turned-comedian and one of the DMV’s only veteran & African-American comedians who delivers clean, conscientious comedy through a uniquely lighthearted mixture of perspectives.
