Taught by professional theatre artists, this six-week class will introduce you to rehearsal techniques including scene work, character development, voice and movement, and dramatic interpretation. At the end, you’ll get the chance to show off your acting chops in a graduation performance for friends and family.
The first session of this class is Saturday, March 18 from 2-5 PM and will meet weekly through April 29, skipping the week of April 8. The graduation show for this class will be Saturday, May 6, at 2PM ET.
About the Instructor
Leila Stephanie is a Newport News native who received her Bachelor’s Degree from Norfolk State University and Master’s Degree in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art & Design. At NSU, she performed in a number of shows such as, The Amen Corner, Kansas City, Dream Girls, For Colored Girls…, and The Whitney Houston Tribute. Leila teaches acting classes at the Downing Gross Cultural Arts Center and VA Stage.
