Workshop

Whether you’re thirsty for a quick sip or simply a new decorative vessel, this clay workshop is for you! In just a few hours, you’ll learn the basics of hand-building and craft your own ceramic mug, ready for your favorite beverage.

Please be aware that this workshop may get messy. We recommend bringing an apron, as they will not be provided.

Students will be able to choose from 4 different glaze options during this session. Work will be bisque fired after the workshop and glazed by our Technician. Students will receive an email 2 weeks after class when work is ready to be picked up.

About the Instructor

Lexi Berkley is an artist hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. After she graduated from Indiana University East with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in 2023, she moved on to teach both children and adults the basics of glazing ceramics at Upaint Pottery Studio, as well as instructing summer camp classes on clay and the process of creating ceramic pieces.

Lexi has instructed classes on both wheel-thrown pottery as well as hand-built clay pieces, ranging from mugs and bowls to figurines and other objects. As a hobby, Lexi enjoys both painting and drawing as well as creating digital artwork using Adobe software such as Adobe photoshop, illustrator, and most recently, animate.

This class is produced in partnership with the Indianapolis Art Center.
