A military spouse with a background as a film and commercial actress\, broadcast journalist\, and award-winning theatre performer\, Pamela blends her expertise in yoga therapy and the performing arts to help actors\, speakers\, and comedians excel on stage. She has presented nationally and internationally on stress management\, mindfulness\, and integrative health\, equipping participants to shine with presence and poise. \n\n\n\nOriginally from the East Coast\, comedian Geoff Grooms now calls San Diego home. As a paid regular at Mic Drop Comedy\, Geoff can be found flexing his muscles on stage across the west coast. When Geoff’s not entertaining audiences with tales about his unique encounters\, and experiences growing up as a military brat; he’s in the gym pumping iron or exploring life as a Navy veteran. Geoff was in the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Festival and was the winner of the 2023 Best Medicine Brigade’s Operation HEAL*arious comedy competition as seen on VetTv. Whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or leveling up your craft\, this is a foundational deep-dive into playing with purpose\, truth\, and presence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor \n\n\n\nLisa Berger is a Master Acting Teacher with over 30 years of experience as a director\, educator\, and Meisner-trained performer. She currently teaches acting\, directing\, and the Meisner Technique at the University of San Diego\, Mira Costa College\, and City College\, and co-leads the Meisner/Chekhov Integrated Training Studio. A graduate of The William Esper Studio in NYC and holder of an MFA from the University of Montana\, Lisa’s pedagogy blends truthful performance\, creativity\, and mindfulness. Her directing work spans more than 60 productions at venues including La Jolla Playhouse\, The Old Globe\, Diversionary Theatre\, and the NYC Fringe Festival. SUMMARY:Art in the Park: Cabrillo National Monument
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Cabrillo National Monument for a hike and art workshop where history meets breath-taking ocean views. This event is produced in partnership with our friends from the National Park Trust. \n\n\n\nPerched at the southern tip of Point Loma\, Cabrillo offers sweeping panoramas of the Pacific Ocean\, San Diego Bay\, and the city skyline. This iconic national park is home to the historic Old Point Loma Lighthouse\, coastal trails\, tide pools\, and preserved WWII military bunkers. \n\n\n\nSchedule of events on Saturday\, June 6: \n\n\n\n10:30 AM – Check-in \n\n\n\n11 AM – Welcome and introductions \n\n\n\n11:30 AM – Ranger-led hike. Some portions of the hike are not wheelchair-accessible (getting into the bunker or up the lighthouse). A military spouse with a background as a film and commercial actress\, broadcast journalist\, and award-winning theatre performer\, Pamela blends her expertise in yoga therapy and the performing arts to help actors\, speakers\, and comedians excel on stage. She has presented nationally and internationally on stress management\, mindfulness\, and integrative health\, equipping participants to shine with presence and poise. \n\n\n\nTom Norton is a combat veteran and stand-up comedian from Iowa whose sharp wit and clever storytelling turn real-life experiences into laugh-out-loud moments. A father of three grown kids and a proud divorce survivor\, Tom delivers smart\, sarcastic humor with the perfect mix of heart and bite — connecting with audiences through honesty\, timing\, and a truly original voice. \n\n\n\nA graduate of ASAP’s Comedy Bootcamp\, Tom is also a dedicated community member who helps keep the veteran arts scene thriving. He hosts multiple Comedy Open Mics each month\, creating welcoming\, high-energy spaces where veterans and military families can try new material\, build community\, and grow as performers. Onstage or off\, Tom brings the same authenticity\, humor\, and generosity that make him a standout instructor and a cornerstone of the ASAP comedy community.
