Come enjoy lessons on recreating still life forms through drawing techniques in a relaxed and approachable environment. Using skills in observation, perspective and how we perceive light as it interacts with our physical world, explore what it takes to realistically mimic a view of found objects with a deepened understanding of “seeing” plus the application of key drawing principles using a variety of materials. We will use these classic principles to create a colorful and nontraditional still life you will be excited to take home. This program welcomes all skill levels.
This three-week class will meet on Sundays: October 15, 22, 29.
About the Instructor
Jade Fiedtkou-Leonard is a local artist with her BFA in Art & Visual Technology from George Mason University, concentrating in Drawing and Painting. She has been teaching both youth and adult art classes since 2013, loving both equally for their unique rewards. Jade is also a musical artist, with a background in orchestral performance as well as vocally leading a ‘70s blues-rock band all around the DMV. She likes to bring this stage experience into her instruction style as she looks to excite her students about art making; and inspire them with their own creativity.
This class is produced in partnership with MOCA Arlington.
