March 11 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm Eastern
This workshop aims to give individuals new to writing poetry the tools to begin their journey and to act as a refresher for those who already have written some poetry. The class includes a discussion of what poetry is and covers aspects of poetry such as sounds and rhythms, structure, sample forms, and revision, and lists some resources. Several exercises are included to stir participants’ creativity.
Please Note: The visual examples of Ekphrasis and inspiration for our hands-on experimentation will not depict graphic war scenes, but some examples touch on war and there may be war themes in the poetry others in the class are inspired to write.
