Play-Reading Club: “Eurydice” by Sarah Ruhl
October 6 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm Eastern

This four-week class will meet on Tuesdays: October 6, 13, 20, and 27.
What happens when one of the oldest love stories ever told is rewritten from a new perspective? Join us for a four-part online Play Reading Club as we explore Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl, a lyrical and imaginative retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Together, we’ll read the play aloud, compare Ruhl’s interpretation with the original myth, and dive into the play’s rich themes of love, memory, loss, language, and the bonds between parents and children.
Each session combines guided discussion and play analysis as we examine the play’s unforgettable characters, poetic imagery, and innovative theatrical storytelling. Whether you’re new to reading plays or a lifelong theater enthusiast, this class offers a welcoming space to engage with dramatic literature and discover how an ancient myth continues to resonate with modern audiences.
