Master the fundamentals of unscripted, spontaneous improv comedy in this six-week class. Speak more confidently and overcome shyness, unlock your creativity, sharpen your mind, meet new friends and have fun all at the same time. Improv training is great for advancing your professional, personal or artistic skills. The core components of improv, character, teamwork, listening skills, and your ability to be “in the moment” are strongly emphasized. It’s the most fun you’ll have all week.
This six-week class meets on Mondays: September 18, 25, October 2, 16, 23, 30 (Skip October 9). Each session is 2 hours. This class has a graduation show on Monday, November 6th where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.
About the Instructor
Rick Horner is an Army veteran and improviser in suburban Philadelphia. Rick founded the improv incubator, a weekly evening of improv for improvisers and actors in the area to meet up, get connected, and play. Rick is an Advisory Board member for The Collective Success Network, on the Workshop Development Team for the Global Play Brigade, and currently serves as the Ensemble Director for Bright Invention. Rick studied at The Second City Training Center in Chicago and trained with influential teachers such as Keith Johnstone, Joe Bill, Ali Farahnakian, Ari Voukydis and Matt Besser of the Upright Citizens Brigade, David Razowsky, Michael Gellman, Deana Creiss and Liz Allen, among others.
