Learn the basics of standup comedy in this six-week class taught by professional comics. The class ends with a graduation show where you’ll deliver a five-minute comedy set to a public audience. Our 600+ graduates have gone on to perform on some of the world’s biggest stages, including Warner Theater, Gotham Comedy Club, and The White House.

This six-week class will meet on Thursdays: September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 12, and 19. Each session is 3 hours. This class has a graduation show on Thursday, October 26th where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.

About the Instructors

Melissa Duke is an Air Force (AF) veteran with two children, an AF spouse, and a graduate of ASAP’s first ever Comedy Bootcamp class. She has been doing stand up with ASAP for almost eight years, mentoring/ instructing for over six of those years, and has been invited to perform for Amazon, Gotham City Comedy Club, and President and Mrs. Carter.

CQ Carrasquillo stumbled into a comedy course as part of the Army’s rehabilitation efforts in 2016, and the rest is history. CQ has performed in legendary places like DC Improv and Gotham NYC and earlier this year started “Pop Culture Warrior” on the WTF Nation Radio station.
