Embark on a journey into the heart of theatrical expression in this six-week class. Both immersive and dynamic, Devising Theatre is crafted for both seasoned performers and aspiring artists seeking to explore the boundless realms of collaborative storytelling and innovative stagecraft. Class members will work collaboratively to serve as researchers, playwrights, and performers.

This six-week class will meet on Sundays: March 10, 17, 24 April 7, 14, and 21 (skip March 31). Each session is 2 hours. This class has a graduation show on Tuesday, April 30 where participants will perform for an audience of friends, family, and the community.

About the Instructor

Rook Armadeus Haddock is an actor and educator based in Virginia Beach. After graduating from Old Dominion University, she had the opportunity to work on Virginia Stage Company’s Matilda the Musical, and has since returned to perform in The Hobbit (Bilbo Baggins) and Henry V (Dauphin). This year thus far, she has worked backstage for Virginia Stage’s 45th season, and most recently, returned to rehearsals for their educational tour of Greenbeats Live!. Rook is also currently stage managing for VSC’s touring production of Every Brilliant Thing.
